  • Bridgeton Blotter - Stalking; drugs; DWI; violating the conditions of intensive supervision program

    BRIDGETON

    * Darrin S. Durham, 18, of Fairfield Township, was arrested Thursday morning on the charges of stalking and contempt. He was lodged in Cumberland County Jail on $7,500 bail.

    Durham is accused of going to his ex-girlfriend's Bridgeton home on Tuesday, violating a restraining order.

    * A 16-year-old Irving Avenue resident was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana Thursday morning after police detained him as a shoplifting suspect.

    Police were dispatched to the East Broad Street Rite Aid at 9:45 a.m. for a report of an attempted theft from the drug store. Police were directed across the street to the IGA grocery store, where they detained the suspect.

    A store manager at Rite Aid declined to sign a shoplifting complaint against the boy, who was released to his mother after being issued a summons for marijuana possession.

    * Hector Martinez, 35, of Hampton Street, was arrested early Thursday on a failure to appear warrant and turned over to Hamilton Township police.

    The warrant was issued out of Hamilton.

    * Joe H. Rainner, 53, of Pittsgrove Township, was arrested Wednesday evening on Pearl Street on the charge of driving while intoxicated after police were dispatched to a car accident at Walnut and Myrtle streets.

    Police allege there was a half-empty bottle of brandy on the back seat of Rainner's pickup truck when he was pulled over.

    Rainner was issued tickets for reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and refusing to submit to blood-alcohol content testing.

    Also served a failure to appear warrant, Rainner was lodged in the county jail on $500 bail.

    * Jabiel Gonzalez, 32, of Seabrook, was arrested Wednesday evening on a contempt warrant, which was issued after he allegedly violated the conditions of his intensive supervision program, or parole. He was lodged in the county jail without bail.

    * Lamont Johnson, 45, of Spruce Street, was arrested Wednesday evening on four failure to appear warrants, which called for $1,030 bail, but was released on his own recognizance.

    * James Beals, 32, of Fairfield Township, was arrested Wednesday evening on a contempt warrant and turned over to state police based at Bridgeton barracks.
