Club selling fruitcake

Bridgeton Kiwanis Club is holding a Benson Fruitcake sale. Cost is $5.75 for a one pound pre-sliced fruitcake.

They are available in the Bridgeton area at J&S Agway and Dare's Feed, in Millville at Quinn Broadcasting or call (856) 455-1959.

The non-profit club's major emphasis is assisting the children of the community, through programs such as Shots for Tots, Key Club in local high schools, 4-H Speaking Contest, Salvation Army Summer Camp and Bridgeton Little League.

MILLVILLE

First meets

Millville First will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion, Post 82, Buck and Mulberry streets, Millville.

Mayor Steve Lonegan, director of Americans for Prosperity, New Jersey, will be the guest speaker. Topic of discussion will be COAH (Council on Affordable Housing). This promises to be informative, particularly in view of the election of Chris Christie as governor and his campaign posture on local mandates and the COAH program.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Painters meet

The Porcelain Painters of Southern New Jersey will meet on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Kountry Kitchen, Route 40, Elmer. The business meeting starts at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at noon ($10) and a demonstration on porcelain painting related subjects. Call Sue at (856) 768-3843 for more details.
