    earns Vassar

    all-tournament

    POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team rebounded from a 0-2 start at the Vassar College Tournament in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with a pair of wins.

    The Ducks defeated Sage Colleges, 3-1(25-7, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17) in its first match before downing host Vassar 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-17). Stevens closed out its regular season with a 24-9 overall record and a perfect 8-0 league ledger.

    Junior outside hitter Sarah Byrne tallied 27 kills and 20 digs in Stevens' two matches en route to all-tournament honors. Stevens hosts the 2009 Empire 8 women's volleyball championships on Saturday.
